A conversation with Jade Gillet of Rainbow Studios.

" Rainbow Studios is a cultivated place for discovery, a creatively driven concept store in the heart of Darlinghurst. Nestled inside the iconic Sydney shell, the visionary duo Brent Gold and Jade Gillett have created an interchangeable space celebrating not only the established brother and sister Jewellery brands ‘HENSON’ and ‘Henson and Gold’ but other artisans alike - a studio offering one-of-a-kind items exclusively conceived for the space." Congratulations on the opening of Rainbow! How long has this project been in the works? RAINBOW STUDIOS was a mixture of quick and fast but also a life long dream of Goldie’s to have a creative space for his jewellery. The idea of evolving the space into a creative concept store was...

WELLINGTON GIRLS - ARTIST: Elle Músa

A short but sweet conversation with Byron Bay based artist, Elle-Louise Burgeuez. " Elle paints vibrant dreamscapes portraying a sense of holiday-moods, European summers and romantic evenings. Her paintings boast various vessels, fruits, desserts, objects and rugs. All inspired by her travels around the world and her love of ancient art." Where are you right now?  I am in my house in Myocum, Byron Bay. The weather is beautiful and rainy.. my favourite weather What are you most looking forward to this summer? Seeing my family, lots of ocean swims, good food and dancing. How would you describe your creative process? Does it vary between art and music? When creating music I improvise and don't overwork my writing. The same tends to go with...

WELLINGTON GIRLS - Nat Buchanan

Introduce Yourself? Hey, I’m Nat and I’m a model and creative based in Sydney. I genuinely like sunsets and long walks on the beach and sometimes treat myself to baby custard at Woolies. Apparently that’s weird. What does a normal workweek consist of for you? As any model would know, there’s no such thing as a ‘normal’ work week. When it rains it pours, and when it’s quiet, it can be really quiet. But the unpredictability of it couldn't be better suited to my personality. I’m usually doing something model-related 4-5 days a week between shooting, castings, and self-tapes. How long have you been a model and when/how were you scouted?I’ve floated in and out of modeling since I was...

WELLINGTON GIRLS - MARIANNE ROUSSETY

Introduce yourself;  Hi! My name is Marianne and I am a self-taught artist and ceramicist living on Bundjalung land, Byron Bay.      What does a typical day in the studio look like for you?  It really depends! I'd love to be in the studio and create everyday but some days it doesn't always flow so I go back to my art space whenever I feel inspired. When I start a piece, I can literally be in the studio for hours, I completely lose track of time and I love it that way.  When did you first begin to describe yourself as an artist?  Mmm.. Good question! I think around two years ago when I started painting on a regular...
